1. Kim Kardashian

I know, I know. The sex video. Who the hell cares. She looks damn fine.

I love everything about this look. It's not cold enough yet in NYC to wear a coat but it's just right to pair some tight jeans with stilettos and leather. Personally, I'm not a fan of the straps on these heels but any open toe shoes work. I plan to do the same look this week, and will show you how I add my own style to it.

2. Knee Highs

All the kids in fab Asian countries have been doing it forever, and finally, we are catching on. Knee highs during the fall are rockin'.

 

 

 

 

This chick is so on point, I can't. I love everything about the dress, hair and knee highs. Perfection.

3. Extra LONG hair

Surprised? I don't care who has the cutest bob, long hair is SO in, it's ridiculous.

4. Extra LONG hair + bright colors underneath

 

This just speaks for itself. If you don't get why blue or pink underneath long hair is awesome, there is no help for you.

Part 3: It's Wedding TIME!

What to wear to the 'after wedding' party?

This entry is specific to the location of the wedding and the company. If this was a wedding in Paris during winter, would I be wearing a crop top and see-through skirt? Probably not. This wedding was in my hometown, Florida and the company was all friends of the same age. I felt comfortable with dressing in my own personal style while hanging with friends after their wedding.

Part 1: It's Wedding TIME!

What to wear to the reception?

ALL OF MY FRIENDS ARE GETTING MARRIED. I love it. I get to do my hair and find a fabulous dress, maybe even say a speech while crying to love ones (my ultimate fave)!

Recently, I attended a Florida wedding where I felt I had to go bold in colors. I wanted to bring out the teal, pink and purple to represent my hometown well.

Here is an example of my 'reception wear':

 

*Keep in mind that this was in Florida during the month of October. If we were in NYC, there would be a blazer and leather involved. Being in tune with seasons and the change of location is impotant in maintaining your fashionable attire while traveling. Why? Because you want to be fashionable in every location not just in "your safe zone" of Manhattan.

(*I wasn't very impressed with this dress in photos. It stretched ut and made me look wider than in person. Boo.)

Moral of the story, do a test run with your wedding reception dress and make sure it photographs the way you like. Also, dress for the location and weather of the wedding. Don't just wear whatever works in your 'home' location.

 



What to wear to an EVENT! Yay!

It's hard to say whether an evening boat cruise event (or any Manhattan charity event or art exhibit) will be extremely formal or just ridiculously fashionable. Here are a few options as to how to decide what to wear.

Answer these questions:

1. Who invited you? Is he/she a formal guy or gal - or a fashionista?

2. Location, location, location. Will it be hot, cold or raining?

3. What is the name of the event?

 

After you retrieve the above answers, go with your "when in Rome" thinking and proceed.

I always think 'comfortable heels' if I am going to be standing for long periods of time. What does that mean, you may ask? It means finding a good cobbler and customizing your shoes to fit YOU. Get them stretched, padded and made to be com-fort-able. Trust me, everyone asks me all the time, "How do you last so long in your 6 inch heels - and they look AAAAAmazing?!" The answer is simple. "They were made for me."

How to Vintage Shop like a Pro - fessional

On Sale. This is the sign that has my wallet in my hand - and my cell browsing to 'chase.com' to check my balance. I love a good sale. Otherwise...I feel like I'm not being thrifty...and my mom taught me better.

Check out this killer outfit (below). How much do you think it cost me?

The typical NYC guess would be roughly $2280 + without shoes depending on the designer:

You MUST cut YOUR hair when you turn 30 +

You MUST cut YOUR hair when you turn 30 + because you are now OLD! First of all, this is crap. There is no age that permits any length of hair verses another. I understand appropriate verses inappropriate but that is not what we are talking about here. We are talking about feeling like 'you are now mature' or are supposed to be, and you now must turn your back on what actually suits you and cut your hair. (*Assuming short hair or a bob doesn't look rockin')

I hope we can all agree that this rule has long since faded or else, Cindy Crawford would not be Cindy Crawford. (*My point being that she does not have a dull bob or a cut that does not suit her and she is 48 years old)

Age: 5ish

Age: 10ish

Since I am taking these photos from facebook, there is a long gap in time (consider yourself lucky) in which I had auburn hair, a full process blonde dye job (horrible), white hair (yes, white) and dark brown. Around the age of 18 years old, I had finally learned that if you have no money, go very dark and bottle dye it until you do - I went black.

 

 

Age: 24

(Note: My hair was this way for at least 10 years)

 

 

Age: 25/26

(Got a cut and bangs i.e. will never work that hard for hair EVER again)

 

 

Age: 27

 

Experimenting Phase (appears once again):

 

Age: 28

 

I loved my hair blonde. No one else did.

 

 

 

Age: 28 - forever

 

And, this would be my normal hair color and length since I found out about ombre and not having to dye my roots.

 

Summary: Long hair is okay at any age. If you do a bob, make sure you look exactly like Anna Wintour.
